Best Choice Roofers: New Slate & Tiled Roofs in Kendal, Ambleside, Sedbergh & Windermere

Best Choice Roofers are a team of reliable, dedicated roofers. Our work is fully insured and guaranteed, and we have over 200 5-star Google reviews from customers throughout Kendal, Ambleside, Sedbergh, Windermere and the surrounding areas.

We carry out all aspects of new slate and tiled roof installations, including full roof stripping, new slates or tiles, new battens, underlay, leadwork and a complete weather-tight finish. If you are unsure what your roof needs, we can arrange a free survey and recommend the best course of action.

A new slate or tiled roof is one of the most effective ways to protect your property and restore its appearance. We install traditional natural slate as well as modern concrete and clay tiles, choosing the right system for the style of the property, the roof pitch and your budget.

Slate is a defining part of roofing across Cumbria and the South Lakes. Traditional Cumbrian slate — including blue-grey and distinctive Westmorland or Lakeland green slates — is valued for its durability, natural colour and ability to withstand wind, rain and frost. On many local roofs, slates were historically laid in diminishing courses, with larger slates at the eaves and smaller slates towards the ridge. Where appropriate, we can work with genuine Cumbrian or matching natural slates, as well as high-quality modern slates.

Every installation begins with a free, no-obligation survey and a clear, competitive quotation. Our time-served roofers work cleanly and efficiently, protect your property during the works and leave the site tidy on completion.

Whether your roof is tiled or slate, our local team of skilled, dedicated roofers are here to help throughout Kendal, Ambleside, Sedbergh, Windermere and the surrounding areas. There are many benefits to a new roof, including:

PEACE OF MIND

A new, modern roof gives you confidence and peace of mind. You won’t have to worry about leaks or structural issues for the foreseeable future, and it can reduce the need for frequent maintenance and repairs.

Adding Property Value

A new roof can significantly improve the value and kerb appeal of your property compared with a roof that needs major work or replacement. It is an important factor for potential buyers and can make a real difference when selling your home.

Increased Energy Efficiency

Modern roofing materials have improved insulation properties. A new roof with up-to-date insulation can improve energy efficiency, help regulate indoor temperatures and keep heating and cooling costs down.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I used Best Choice Roofers Ltd around eight weeks ago for a repair, and they were absolutely fantastic. The quote was unbeatable and genuinely fair, and the team delivered incredibly efficient, high‑quality work. They made the whole process effortless and stress‑free. Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’m a roofer myself and recently moved, so I needed an extra pair of hands to get a quick re‑roof completed. I didn’t hesitate to call this firm — their professionalism and the quality of their workmanship are genuinely unmatched. They deliver top‑tier results every time. You’d be making a mistake going anywhere else.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’ve now used Best Choice Roofers Ltd on two separate projects, and both experiences have been exceptional. The first was a full re‑roof on a property, which they handled with real professionalism — the work was completed quickly, the finish was excellent, and the team were consistently polite and respectful of the space.

Because the service was so impressive, I brought them back for a flat roof on my extension. Once again, they delivered outstanding workmanship. They were efficient, tidy, and clearly take pride in doing the job properly. It’s rare to find a company that’s this reliable and consistent. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.
