LEADWORK REPAIRS IN KENDAL

LEADWORK & REPAIRS

Many roof leaks are caused by water getting through gaps or holes in chimney and roofing leadwork. The chimney is a common source of leaks, and these issues can be identified quickly during a free roofing survey.

Leadwork seals the junctions where a roof meets a wall, chimney, valley or dormer. When it is fitted correctly, it sheds water effectively and protects the structure from damp and weather damage.

Best Choice Roofers cover Kendal, Ambleside, Sedbergh, Windermere and the surrounding areas. We carry out step flashings, apron flashings, valley linings, chimney flashings, soakers and dormer cladding using high-quality, code-compliant lead.

We also undertake decorative leadwork, including ornamental flashings, lead capping and custom detailing for period and traditional properties. Decorative leadwork improves the look of the roof while still providing a reliable weather seal.

Professional leadwork helps prevent leaks, improves roof performance and can last for decades when installed correctly. If you need leadwork repairs or installations, email us at info@bestchoiceroofersltd.co.uk or use our online contact form. You can also call use on 01539 313 631.

LEADWORK REPAIRS KENDAL

Lead has been a trusted roofing material for centuries, offering excellent durability and weather resistance. Professionally fitted and well-maintained leadwork can last for decades. Best Choice Roofers take pride in delivering high-quality roofing solutions, including expert leadwork throughout Kendal, Ambleside, Sedbergh, Windermere and the surrounding areas. Our skilled roofers specialise in the precise installation and maintenance of lead flashings, valleys and gullies to protect the longevity and performance of your roof.

Apron Flashing

Lead flashing is used on chimneys and wherever a roof meets brickwork or masonry. It is commonly fitted on slate and tiled roofs at wall abutments, as well as on conservatory roofs and bay windows, to create a watertight seal.

Step Flashing

Step flashing is used where a roof meets brickwork at a change in height — for example, where a lower roof runs into a wall, a roof meets a chimney, or a conservatory roof joins the main house. It creates a series of overlapping seals that keep water out at these junctions.

Chimney Flashing

Chimney flashing prevents water entering the building where the chimney meets the roof. Step flashing is typically used along the sides of the chimney stack to create a watertight seal at this junction.

Lead Valleys & Gullies

Correct leadwork detailing is essential to protect your home from leaks. Valleys and gullies are among the most vulnerable areas of a roof and can fail quickly if they are not constructed properly.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’m a roofer myself and recently moved, so I needed an extra pair of hands to get a quick re‑roof completed. I didn’t hesitate to call this firm — their professionalism and the quality of their workmanship are genuinely unmatched. They deliver top‑tier results every time. You’d be making a mistake going anywhere else.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’ve now used Best Choice Roofers Ltd on two separate projects, and both experiences have been exceptional. The first was a full re‑roof on a property, which they handled with real professionalism — the work was completed quickly, the finish was excellent, and the team were consistently polite and respectful of the space.

Because the service was so impressive, I brought them back for a flat roof on my extension. Once again, they delivered outstanding workmanship. They were efficient, tidy, and clearly take pride in doing the job properly. It’s rare to find a company that’s this reliable and consistent. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.
